SPANISH TEACHER
I help people to learn and improve their Spanish language!
Hi there! I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Rebeca Trejos. I am a Spanish teacher from Costa Rica. I live in a beautiful place called Monteverde.
I have experience teaching Spanish as a Second Language both face to face and virtual systems to students of different ages and levels. I was working at the Centro Panamericano de Idiomas (CPI) here in Monteverde for around 7 years teaching Spanish. After that, I was working at Cloud Forest School, and after three years, I started my entrepreneurship: Our Spanish Learning. Thanks to these opportunities, I developed skills in the teaching the language as a second language, taking as a reference the Common European Framework for the Learning, Teaching, and Assessment of Languages.
In addition to being a Spanish teacher, I worked as a Coordinator of Spanish as a Second Language program at the Cloud Forest School, an experience that reinforced my knowledge about curricular design, diagnostics, and lesson planning.
Along with this, I am studying Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching English for Elemental School children at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia here in Costa Rica.
The above information was some demonstrable facts through papers and documents however, some personal insights are:
- I consider myself an introverted but not shy. When people recognize, believe, and develop their abilities, they can reach their goals and spend their life enjoying the process.
- In addition, I consider myself a responsible, very organized, and disciplined person. I heard once, but I cannot remember from whom, that when motivation fails, discipline keeps us going. I am a witness to it. 🙂
- Also, I consider myself a teacher. That is, I like that my students learn. I am a teacher not only by experience or academic title but also, and mainly, by vocation. In other words, if my students want to learn Spanish, I can teach them.
Finally,
I believe that life is an ongoing learning process, in which I decide my attitude towards challenges. Therefore, a healthy perspective allows me to take advantage of the changes and enjoy my learning. For that reason, I am grateful to God for the opportunities and challenges I have experienced, and I try to enjoy every moment.
